It reminds me of 'old school' Warhammer Fantasy Battles where the colleges of magic that derived from elven High Magic, were divided into 8 colors and had very distinct effects. Now Games Workshop only vaguely references the old color scheme in a more fluff way, while the colleges were changed to lores, and the colors given way to words that were more intuitive as to what you might expect from that sub-set of spells (for example the Amethyst College became the Lore of Death, or the Amber College becoming the Lore of Beasts.)Howard Hoovenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08884533054971752407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4829093857574761981.post-14816381711163109172010-07-02T23:23:23.696+01:002010-07-02T23:23:23.696+01:00Thanks guys. In my initial development of this scheme for a home brewed game with casting rolls, you could actually increase your chance of success by wearing the color and symbols of that school of magic - at the cost of giving away what kind of magic that was.Roger G-Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594440701279968693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4829093857574761981.post-20528143602187274042010-07-02T21:14:14.189+01:002010-07-02T21:14:14.189+01:00I like the idea that color clues in-game could be...I like the idea that color clues in-game could be learned by players: "That wand is growing green, stand back she'll charm you!"Telecanterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238356788092725244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4829093857574761981.post-26927198609960191362010-07-02T04:12:10.667+01:002010-07-02T04:12:10.667+01:00Interesting. And the most colorful post I read today. ;)Treyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04647628467658839351noreply@blogger.com
