It pretty much defined what I expected from post-apocalypse novels. When the sequel came out almost ten years later, I caught the magic again. I eagerly awaited the conclusion.<br /><br />Then Sterling E. I was always frustrated that the 2nd book ended in a cliffhanger, and wrote to Lanier complementing his books and asking if a third was in the works.
