This might just be the middle of the range of another set of nondescript wild camel herds. But one of them, a group of about 15 animals, is led by a grizzled old dromedary who has a chunky brass chain around his neck, bearing a medallion of the Spirit of the Sand, a face set in a whirlwind who is venerated by the Sandwalker druids. The medallion is not magical, but anyone who can take or inveigle the chain from the camel and wear it themselves will become the new leader of the camel herd. The animals will thereafter follow the wearer everywhere except into certain death.
