    I had to go back and re-read how to use these tables.

    I'd assumed throwing 3d20s, each one a different color, was one of the ways.

    Assigning each die to a column would sort of "un-can" your Canned Adventure rule.

    Sure, you can use the table that way, as long as you're willing to deal with the occasional completely uninterpretable result.
