Congrats on getting on it, that's an accomplishment! (I think there are a few users that are participants of the OSR on there).
But yeah, it's a bummer that the whole thing sort of de-volved into whether you should have even made the 52 pages rather than what was in them.
I think it is indicative of how foreign the concept of DIY is to the mainstream. The assumption seems to be that you just wait until Hasbro supplies you with rules. And then if you don't like them you look to another company like Paizo. The solution is never to make your own.
