Hex Crawl 23 #185: Farmsteads Deep in the Dhuga

Four hexes northwest, three north of Alakran.

Here a number of small farms nestle in the hills, each with one to three farm buildings that house at most an extended family. They grow crops of millet, together with other garden produce -- melon and spring onion, cucumbers, pumpkins.

The farms are all reasonably prosperous and content except for the eastmost one headed by a young man named Sharokeen. A quarrel with his brother had ended with the latter removing to Nekai, of all places, and the farm now is short-handed and woefully underproducing.

The one in the northwest, led by a gruff woman named Uammah, is looking to unload a weird bronze vessel they dug up with horrid carvings on it and which seems to give nightmares. The bronze is precious and so they will ask 100 gold for it, but will quickly be bargained down, so great is their desire to lose it.

These folk will speak openly of the valley of mists, but observe a local taboo on naming or acknowledging the brass dragon Shabana. The most you will get is that by gesturing it can be made known that a "shining flying cloud" could at times be observed toward the southeast.
