Hex Crawl 23 #192: The Three Tough Guys

Four hexes northwest, three southwest of Alakran.

Continuing the series of characters one might meet on Nama'a the Road of Flowers, there is this boisterous trio of warriors that the Band of Bronze hired for a while to conduct operations in the western Dulsharna plain, known as the Three Tough Guys. (To step out of character, these were the winners of a player voting contest on the looks and armaments of several plates of dudes from Osprey's ancients series.)

Whether it was their sense of style or economy of dress, these three became the canonical mercenaries.

Syphax the excitable archer from the Emur borderlands,

Hazran the grandiloquent axeman of Pungatan,

and Yar the laconic turbaned swordsman, member of the seldom-seen Allutti tribe of crab fishers and boaters native to the tip of the Shukurru peninsula, which is where the northern end of the Scarp juts into the Salt Sea of Ghem.

Hazran and Yar will gladly accept upgrades to their armor and weaponry, but Syphax is content with his bow, arrows, and oxhide cape, which he can maneuver as a shield simply by stepping and gyrating -- quite the sight to behold. The trio play of each other's enthusiasm and will, after some discussion, usually accept good coin to go even to hazardous or taboo places in search of more of the same!

In the Game of Bronze, these three had custom statistics, but you can loosely base them on a Bandit Captain (Yar), Berserker (Hazran) and Scout (Yar).
