Hex Crawl 23 #201: Rovers of the Dhuga Hills 3: Sipesiye the Haunted

Six hexes northwest, two north of Alakran.

A priestess also roams the Dhuga, also prone to show up when you roll a lair encounter in an empty hex.

Her name is Sipesiye. She wears a rough undyed goat wool cloak over a white shift, a modest brass necklace of one piece, and earrings. She is young, with soft, sun-blackened skin. From her collar hangs a sun disk, nominally of Mitra, but of ancient design harkening back to Wadjet. Unchurched, she is a priestess but a vagrant, driven from society into the hills because of the haunted instrument she bears.

She has been cursed into speaking only gibberish. The curse is from the stringed instrument she clutches and cannot be persuaded to let go. The gibberish is musical, but it is the language of the instrument, a long-necked, two-stringed lute. A bard might, on a difficult Intelligence check, understand the gist of what she is saying.

Too ashamed to go to any religious site for healing, let alone the mighty Rock of the Dharvi, she still possesses the powers of her level (cleric-3, Light) and will have to be persuaded to lay aside her feelings and rejoin society
